Google’s AMP Project Just Got Better and It Is a Must Have for All the Content Marketers

Google started the AMP project in the beginning of 2016 for all the websites who were facing the loss of leads due to the load it took to launch the website on the Mobile Devices. So they started this project to magnify the speed of the website launching in the mobile devices. The name itself says it all like “Accelerated Mobile Pages”- AMP. All you need to do is do a bit of coding to your website and it will become AMP facilitated. So as Google derived that the highest reason of a potential client leaving the website page without any purchases or activity was the more time the page took to launch on their mobile devices, now you can easily get a faster and better view of your website with AMP. Once you are done with the AMP and someone clicks on the link it will direct through the AMP viewer and the client will have a much faster view than that of an average mobile loading speed.

Let’s first try to understand how the AMP works. AMP is nothing but some set of rules for the HTML pages and it will remove some of the cached or third party content so that the pages loads much quicker. The main reason for slowing down of the speed is the integration of JavaScript libraries, embeds etc. So it will not support any author written JavaScript on your web page. To get all these things fixed in your WordPress built websites, you won’t even need to do the coding. All you need to do is install a plugin and you will be all set. The plugins that are available are as follows:

 https://wordpress.org/plugins/amp/

https://wordpress.org/plugins/pagefrog/

https://wordpress.org/plugins/glue-for-yoast-seo-amp/

Developers can also apply AMP for E-Commerce websites, what they can do is select the product pages and turn them into a static AMP page. So once the customer has made the decision and wants to check out or move to the payment page, they will be redirected towards a dynamic web page. So you will have a faster view for your E-Commerce website.

Now since Google was receiving a lot of response to the AMP projects and there are lots of AMP facilitated websites on the web already they have come up with a new update. Google’s new AMP update came on 2nd of August and it was that since a lot of websites are AMP facilitated, then why not market such websites. So the ranking of the website won’t be affected but the website will be shown with a special symbol making the web surfers aware that the website is AMP facilitated. The icon will look something like this “”. Right now it is in a beta stage so the Google has launched a demo server which you can use to access how the website will look or how fast the AMP facilitated website works. So if you are done coding or just want to check that how the AMP facilitated website works just click on this link g.co/ampdemo.  Type anything in the demo server from your mobile device and you will see all the AMP facilitated websites. You can search for French toast or you can also search for Nesterzweb. Yes, we are also AMP facilitated and are registered in the AMP demo server. So since it is in a beta stage the only way to access is through that demo server link. Once Google is done testing, it will be visible to all the users worldwide. A secret tip from our in-house Google Expert on this AMP and its relation to SERP, the secret is that the Google once in 2013 announced that speed is one of the factors of ranking so if you increase the speed you might get an appraisal for your website in the SERP.
